The Raleigh St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee Announces The 2012 Rose of Raleigh

The winner of the Rose of Raleigh contest was announced at the annual fundraiser on February 18 at Tir na nOg Irish Pub.

Katie Foley's essay "What does your Irish heritage mean to you" won her this year's title. Raleigh Mayor, Nancy McFarlane was on hand to present Katie and First Runner-up Bridget Madden.

The Rose of Raleigh contest was derived from the world-renowned "Rose of Tralee International Festival" one of Ireland's premier festivals held in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland.

The Parade Committee would like to encourage all eligible young women to apply next year.
